Chapter 75

Tang Xuhai helped Fu Shiwu walk back.

Shi Zheng glanced at them lazily: “How come? No more fighting back?”

Miao Jia couldn’t keep his cool anymore and spat out: “Shi Zheng, what is in this for you? Do you just want us both to fight till death?”

Shi Zheng sneered icily: “Wasn’t it you who pushed me till this point? If I say I’ll let you go now, what do you think?”

Who’d believe him?!

After experiencing Shi Zheng’s bombs made with real humans, none of them here dared to dream that he would let go.

Shi Zheng looked at their incredulous expressions, shrugging: “So, let’s end it here.”

A sinister bastard who had the guts to intimidate others with his own life. His words might be true, but they might also be false. But at this moment, Shi Zheng absolutely didn’t show any signs that he was bluffing. This was the toughest to deal with.

The current situation was that Tang Xuhai’s team were surrounding Shi Zheng and a handful of his subordinates who carried no abilities, while Shi Zheng’s suicide bombers were surrounding them.

At this point, Zhen Zi woke up, and Shi Zheng’s expression twitched ever so lightly. Cleverly, Huo Enting yelled at once: “Zhen Zi! Ultrasound!!”

Now that they were caught in this deadlock, only this young girl’s ultrasonic waves could take down Shi Zheng. Even if she couldn’t get rid of him entirely, the delay in his movements would be enough for Tang Xuhai to rush over and chop off his hand holding the remote control.

But regretfully, Huo Enting underestimated how fast Shi Zheng could react. The second Huo Enting finished his words and Zhen Zi looked back at him, Shi Zheng pressed on the bombs that were closest to Fu Shiwu and Tang Xuhai!

“Boom!!!”

Like the most magnificent fireworks, the brilliant crimson flames flared up in a blink. Clueless about which bombs Shi Zheng would blow up, Fu Shiwu couldn’t dodge in time and could only watch the engulfing flames in sheer horror.

In that split second, time was almost frozen. Inside his perception, Fu Shiwu could see the light of the explosion reflected from his pupils, but his reaction in reality couldn’t support his body to avoid the thunderous clatter.

The huge power rushed to everyone, and just as it was about to tear their bodies apart, it suddenly became sluggish!

In Fu Shiwu’s perception where everything slowed down, the bursting flames seemed to be pulled by a giant invisible hand, rolled backwards, then spread out in the other direction.

Fu Shiwu’s heart beat frantically as waves and waves of dizziness hit his head. Everything before his eyes turned pitch black. All his life, he had never been this close to death.

The energy that was supposed to tear everything in its part and span out in all directions only blasted in the opposite direction of the crowd. This caused the other side to bear the impact of the explosion alone. Its entirety was turned upside-down and all the trees were instantly crushed into powder.

Only when everyone was thrown left and right by the huge shock did their expressions change drastically.

Huo Enting turned as white as a sheet as fear crept into his bones. He seriously didn’t expect Shi Zheng’s resolution to be that cruel.

Shi Zheng totally didn’t see this coming. Playing with explosives since his early years and having reached an outstanding level in his bomb making and manipulation, Shi Zheng had never once doubted the extent of destruction his bombs could bestow. Even if it would kill himself, he didn’t believe that the bomb he had detonated couldn’t blow up Tang Xuhai’s team!

Refusing to believe in this miracle, Shi Zheng pressed another number, and this time, the bomb behind Miao Jia exploded with no one being prepared for it.

But just like the previous one, the impact of the explosion didn’t reach this side at all, rather, it doubled its blast to the other side.

“Why?!” Shi Zheng gaped in disbelief. He couldn’t accept what was happening before his eyes.

One after another, the bombs that he triggered blew up the entire stretch of trees, without harming a single human.

“How can it be?” Miao Jia also felt strange.

There was a figure standing there among the raining gravel, broken branches, falling leaves and thick smoke. He hugged his arms and gazed at Shi Zheng coldly.

Fu Shi had noticed this person early on, but the intensity that his heart was going through made him unable to voice out.

Still, it was Tang Xuhai with his sharp eyes who caught on. He couldn’t help but blurt out in utter amazement: “Lao Wen?!”

That person was Wen Zhaoming!

“Wen ge!!!” Miao Jia was both pleased and stupefied to see him, then his face went pale: “Are you a human or a ghost?!”

Other people pretty much reacted the same way. They would be incredibly happy to see him again, but only if he were human!

You must know, Wen Zhaoming was a man whose both legs had been disabled, but now he was standing straight in front of them. How could this not make anyone scared out of their wits?!

Wen Zhaoming’s face was stained and his body was scattered with scratches. He pressed his left hand on his right arm and looked at Miao Jia, whose face had turned whiter than a ghost, and the corner of his mouth twitched a tiny bit into a humourless smile.

Watching him standing there, Shi Zheng wondered in awe: “Weren’t you that loser from earlier? Aren’t you a cripple?”

In a blink, Wen Zhaoming put on a solemn expression. Casting a blank look at Shi Zheng, he started moving and walked over in a rather stiff posture: “I’m here to tell you that although I’m a cripple, I’m not a loser!!! Your bomb didn’t kill me, and today, your time’s up.”

Miao Jia’s mouth opened and closed, then repeated again, as he mumbled: “Wen ge, your leg…?”

Tang Xuhai smiled and sighed: “So you can walk now.”

Fu Shiwu finally calmed down from all the stimulation his heart was subjected to. He rubbed the corners of his eyes and smiled: “Your prostheses.”

Wen Zhaoming walked to Fu Shiwu’s side. It was the first time he saw Wen Zhaoming’s face with this line of sight, which made him feel both delighted and novel at the same time.

“I made you worried.” Wen Zhaoming stretched out his hand and patted Tang Xuhai’s shoulder: “Luckily you left the prosthesis nearby, otherwise, I wouldn’t know how to look for you when I crawled out of those ruins. My right arm is probably broken. It took me a long time to put on the prostheses.”

He lifted his leg and swayed unsteadily to a side, but Tang Xuhai nicely caught him in time.

“I haven’t practised enough, so walking with these isn’t really my cup of tea.” Wen Zhaoming sighed. It was because he couldn’t get used to the pain that he became quite unwilling to walk with prostheses.

“How did you turn the bombs into that?” Shi Zheng obviously couldn’t care less about their happy reunion, rather, his attention was all on the bombs.

Shi Zheng’s question was also what Miao Jia and Liu Zhao were immensely curious about. After all, they watched the second floor blow up with their own eyes.

“You told me clearly that this bomb will explode under three conditions.” Wen Zhaoming raised his finger: “First, if you detonate with your remote control; second, if we accidentally cut any metal wire; and third, if my heart stops beating. I pondered for a long time, how could I get this bomb down while guaranteeing my own safety? The answer is no, it simply is impossible. So I took another approach and tried to figure out all the different ways I could shield myself when it exploded. It would take less than a second for the bomb to blow up after its metal wire was cut, so I threw it as far as possible, then used my fire ability to protect myself. At that moment, I suddenly discovered that I could push the impact of the explosion to a certain direction.”

Shi Zheng was completely dumbfounded. He also had fire ability users under his wings, but they could only set fire to things. No one had ever been able to manipulate explosions.

Miao Jia stared at Wen Zhaoming in pure admiration. Turns out that Wen ge is also so OP! “Mighty Wen ge!”

Zhen Zi also nodded in agreement with a very earnest expression: “If only I could kneel down and hug your thigh.”

Wen Zhaoming glanced at the girl he hadn’t seen before in surprise. Zhen Zi was looking at him with those male god-worshipping eyes, which made him a tad embarrassed and subconsciously bothered by her oh-so-zealous language.

Shi Zheng was on the verge of going mad: “Impossible! The bombs I made can’t be so impotent! I don’t believe it!”

Wen Zhaoming said grimly: “Nothing is impossible. With the emergence of special ability users, common sense will be overturned. The ability to manipulate explosions is just one of them.”

“I absolutely won’t believe it!!!” Shi Zheng held the remote control with both hands and pressed it hysterically, and the rest of the bombs blew up at once!

Wen Zhaoming’s fire powers were fiercely released and he orchestrated the flames in the air to converge into a violent fire tornado that whizzed towards Shi Zheng.

The flames completely engulfed him.

The notorious firearm dealer who was the root of many evils eventually died in the hands of the bombs that he loved so much.

With this strike, Wen Zhaoming seemed to have reached his limit as sweat quickly oozed from his forehead.

“Zhaoming!” Fu Shiwu also reached out his hands to support him.

Other people also surrounded him with concern.

“I’m okay.” With his face turning grimly pale, Wen Zhaoming smiled softly: “It’s not yet the time to rest at ease. Shi Zheng’s remaining forces still need to be taken care of.”

“Rest assured, leave it to us.” Fu Shiwu said firmly: “We must take down all the members of the Wild Wolf Gang! Do not let them linger in this world!”

Catching Fu Shiwu’s rarely seen domineering attitude, Tang Xuhai immediately agreed.

Huo Enting, who had exhausted his powers, stayed behind, while Ma Dong set up a dangerous trap of quicksand around them and the others went to destroy the Wild Wolf Gang. Zhen Zi even helped to distinguish those that were true villains apart from those that were helplessly coerced to join the gang.

With Zhen Zi’s differentiation effort, coupled with the fact that Shi Zheng was dead, those who were forced started rebelling. By dawn, they finally encircled and suppressed the remaining members of the Wild Wolf Gang.

After the civilians behind the fence were eventually released, they swarmed to thank Fu Shiwu’s team. Facing such a scene, Fu Shiwu was at a loss, and Tang Xuhai didn’t quite know what to do either. At the end, Wen Zhaoming and Huo Enting, who had recovered a little bit by that point, calmed these people down together.

Tang Xuhai finally heaved a sigh of relief, and Fu Shiwu looked up at him. As the four eyes looked at each other, they both inexplicably burst into laughter.

“It’s over.” Tang Xuhai sat down at the edge of the pavement, and Fu Shiwu sat down as well.

“Uhm, but we still can’t be at ease yet. There’s a long road ahead.” He said.

“With Shi Zheng’s resources, the rest of the journey is going to be easy.” Tang Xuhai said after thinking for a moment.

“Let’s not stay here for too long. The advanced alien that appeared last night seems to be even more powerful than the evolved alien before.” Fu Shiwu said sternly.

“Okay! Pack up, we’ll leave at noon!” Tang Xuhai concluded.

He ran away a loooooong time ago. I’m not sure what happened to the actual second in command/that guy Shi Zheng finds so ‘satisfactory’ and wants to whisk away. It’s probable he died. In fact, it’s extremely probable both Jiang whatever (blood control) and Second in Command guy died.
