Chapter 52
To everyone’s incredulity, Huo Enting really made it.
His water rockets, or no, they should rather be called water bullets, completely had everyone stunned as they penetrated many bloody holes through the aliens.
“It’s amazing!” Ma Dong exclaimed: “So a water-type ability can be this strong!”
As a commotion surged on this side, Wen Zhaoming, who was slowly moving towards them, had to look over.
Tang Xuhai berated those excited men with a stern expression: “Don’t get it over your head yet! Is it time to lose our guard?!”
Liu Zhao and Wu Shan immediately returned him a sheepish smile, while Wang Dan and Hollande walked forward and stood by Huo Enting’s side to deal with the aliens that slipped through the net of his water bullets.
Standing on top of the car, Fu Shiwu was very delighted at Huo Enting’s success, but he didn’t show it on his face. He just said to Tang Xuhai: “Xuhai, Mr. Huo’s ability can only release ten tons of water. We don’t know how long he can last with such intensive spraying?”
Tang Xuhai responded with a soft “Uhm”, then he said: “I’m watching. Don’t worry.”
Fu Shiwu nodded and looked up at the front. The three-dimensional images still persisted clearly in his mind. This was the longest time he had ever stayed in this state.
The stronger the water pressure, the faster the water flowed out. Ten tons of water wouldn’t last too long, but for the short duration that it could last, it would annihilate a large amount of their enemies.
Huo Enting’s water gun was shooting like a heavy-fire machine gun at 6000 rounds per minute. If the bullets hit any alien, they would be dead on the spot or at least severely wounded.
This made the evolved alien hiding at the back rather anxious. If this continued, its subordinate aliens would be wiped out soon!
Only after nearly two hundred normal aliens died did the evolved alien at the back become unable to stand still.
“It’s coming!” Fu Shiwu warned.
Tang Xuhai immediately clenched the hilt of his swords with both hands.
Liu Zhao and Wu Shan once again joined hands to kill any loose aliens that were jumping at the group.
A moment later, Liu Zhao nervously shouted: “Which one is the boss?!”
Liu Peiqi responded to him with another shout: “Don’t worry, it’s definitely not looking for you!”
The primary target of this evolved alien was likely the one who was dealing the most damage to them all. Right now, that target must be Huo Enting.
Just then, Huo Enting yelled in distress: “My powers are about to run out!”
Tang Xuhai said calmly: “Stay steady. Just hold out for as long as you can.”
“Come!” Fu Shiwu bellowed as he raised the duo guns in both hands.
“Bang bang bang!”
As the bullets flew out, an alien also jumped up from the alien wave, as though it was meant to clash head-on with the bullets.
“Squeak!!!” The alien yelled with rage, swung its arms and blocked all the bullets with its tentacles!
Tang Xuhai roughly rubbed the soles of his feet against the ground, kicked it twice and made a beautiful flip in mid-air, the duo swords in his hands spinning rapidly along with him.
The alien couldn’t change its movements in time and inevitably collided with Tang Xuhai.
As his Dragonbone swords fiercely slashed across the creature, blood spewed out incessantly from the huge opening on its body.
In the split second that Tang Xuhai remained in the air, he threw away the two swords as he flew across the alien before drawing his combat knife to slit the alien’s neck at lightning speed.
The alien was already at a disadvantage when struck by Fu Shiwu’s bullets, then Tang Xuhai severely wounded it, literally dealing a fatal blow.
As the blood spurting in the air formed a bright crimson arc, Tang Xuhai landed on the ground, ran forward in three large strides and dexterously caught his two falling swords.
And as he came back to his calm state, the alien thudded heavily before his eyes.
“Wow~~~” Ma Dong and Liu Peiqi stared at Tang Xuhai’s icy cold face in fear and admiration at the same time. They all knew he was amazing, but they didn’t expect him to be this spectacular!
Having totally exhausted his powers by this point, Huo Enting panted hard, his arms shuddered but his eyes firmly looked straight ahead.
As the aliens finally came to a stagnation, both sides arrived at a quiet confrontation. Fu Shiwu got off the car roof and walked to the border of their attacking range with Tang Xuhai.
A brief commotion rippled throughout the alien wave and they slowly began to rush down the mountain. In an instant, they completely dispersed.
“Huff —” Wang Dan breathed a sigh of relief.
Fu Shiwu wiped the sweat off his forehead and his strange perception slowly faded. With his legs feeling as soft as mush now, he stumbled forward, but Tang Xuhai quickly caught him.
“What’s wrong?” Tang Xuhai threw the swords to one side.
“My powers are exhausted.” Fu Shiwu said in low tone: “I’ve been using that ability.”
“All this time?!” Tang Xuhai couldn’t help but glare at him with scorching eyes
As Fu Shiwu slightly nodded his head, Tang Xuhai calmly grabbed his shoulders and carried him to lean against the car.
“What’s wrong with Mr. Fu?” Hollande seemed to want to walk over.
“It’s okay, you help bring Huo Enting to rest in the car.” Tang Xuhai turned his head to block the others’ sight: “The rest can help clear the way down the mountain. We’ll leave in a while.”
The alien wave was only temporarily pushed back. No one knew if they would come back, so they should leave as soon as possible.
“Uhm.” Wang Dan nodded and walked down first.
“Ai-ya!” Seeing Wu Shan roll his eyes, Liu Zhao helplessly patted him on the shoulder: “Let’s go, don’t complain, we have to do it. Otherwise we can’t leave.”
There were alien corpses everywhere down the mountain, some of them charred to black and some of them filled with holes.
“I’ll help too!” Miao Jia stood up.
Tang Xuhai glanced at him: “How’s the surrounding situation?”
“There’s nothing unusual for the time being. The aliens are running along the highway towards Yun City.” Miao Jia looked down at the computer and said.
“Then you can go and help.” Tang Xuhai said.
Fu Shiwu closed his eyes. One after for another, waves of dizziness came crashing his head. Tang Xuhai climbed into the car and brought him a handful of chocolate bars that he loved so much.
“Eat them.”
Fu Shiwu opened his eyes and a beam of light shined brightly in those eyes the moment they caught sight of the chocolates. Fu Shiwu had been determined to set them aside; the last time he had them was before Tang Xuhai followed the soldiers to look for food outside.
Under the high temperature of late summer, the chocolate bars had melted and deformed. Although they was soft now, the taste wasn’t affected at all.
“Um~~~” Fu Shiwu gleefully closed his eyes and raised his neck to munch on them while lying on the car seat.
Although no one said that eating chocolate could regenerate their powers, but at moments of exhaustion, eating some sweets could certainly make them feel better.
Seeing Fu Shiwu’s happy face, Tang Xuhai smiled, then he turned to get out of the car. He walked to the rear and looked at Wen Zhaoming: “How are you? Let’s have some chocolate.” He stuffed some in Wen Zhaoming’s hands: “To supplement your energy.”
Huo Enting was no exception. He received a lot of cream-filled chocolate.
Huo Enting had never eaten this type of chocolate, but it definitely didn’t taste any less delicious than those luxurious brands that he used to have before.
Although Tang Xuhai had been fighting intensively today, he still had ample energy left. After sending ‘compensations’ to the few people who had exhausted their powers, he also went to clean up the dead alien bodies under the mountain.
Miao Jia bent down, endured the feeling of nausea and stretched out both hands to grab the alien’s shoulders and drag it away. But at this moment, the alien suddenly flinched and rolled out its tentacles towards Miao Jia’s waist.
“Watch out!” Wang Dan, who happened to be just nearby, rushed over and pulled Miao Jia aside before swiftly kicking the alien away!
“Be careful, some of them aren’t completely dead!” Wang Dan said to the dumbfounded Miao Jia.
Those that were burnt by Wen Zhaoming’s fire were utterly dead, but some that suffered Huo Enting’s water bullets only had their vital organs hit and were still wriggling on the ground.
“Oh.” Miao Jia nodded.
In view of the fact that Miao Jia was almost attacked, Tang Xuhai, Liu Zhao and Wu Shan stabbed these these aliens a few more times to make sure they were done for.
This part of the downward slope was in a huge mess, and they didn’t have the leisure time to restore the place to its original state. They could only dig out a lane in the middle to make their way through.
Although physically and mentally exhausted, everyone was unwilling to stay in this less-than-pretty place.
The modified car ran in front, Liu Zhao took over the wheel of Huo Enting’s car and Hollande drove his car behind.
In theory, it would be better to drive at night and rest during the day, because except for when they first descended onto Earth from the sky veil, the alien was also a species that rested at night and acted during the day.
But Tang Xuhai’s group was in a different situation from others. They had Miao Jia with them, who could infiltrate satellite signals from the sky and monitor the movements of large alien waves at any point in time. Any small group of aliens wasn’t a threat to them at all.
Apart from that, they were more wary of creatures with special abilities. If they encountered animals with unknown special abilities at night, such as that giant ox earlier, how could they fight with such poor vision?
Fu Shiwu took a good rest for a few hours and supplied himself with plenty of water and food in between, so by the afternoon, his powers had substantially climbed back up.
He turned back to look at Miao Jia, who was occupying the rear compartment.
In order to facilitate Miao Jia’s work, Tang Xuhai had sorted out the items at the car’s back and specially constructed a workbench for Miao Jia. He even used his metal ability to integrate Miao Jia’s satellite antenna into the car body, so that the antenna was alwasy steadily fixed on the car roof.
And Miao Jia’s solar panels were also placed on the roof rack, where a special slot had been made such that the panels could be conveniently put there for charging, then conveniently pulled down when not charging.
Although the rear compartment had been expanded by Tang Xuhai, the place where Miao Jia sat was still rather cramped because it was full of items, but he didn’t care. He couldn’t be more satisfied to find such an escapade in this cruel world and be able to do what he liked.
“Miao Jia?” Fu Shiwu called out his name softly.

A trope that she always thirsts after: “Comrades who go through life and death together”.
I like that’s ML is still treating everyone quite equally ^^ (that he shares the chocolate with everyone who’s depleted their energy)
Yup it’s refreshing too see usually other ML’s don’t do that. It’s nice to see he is treating everyone fairly like comrades. I don’t like ML’s that get jealous for dumb stuff and other people for stupid reasons and I like that he wants to train the others. Right now there is no romance yet so hopefully in the future he still is fair that way
For real. Like, he treats Fu Shiwu more ‘sweetly’ if I may be so bold as to say but he still treats everyone else nicely. It really does make him more realistic as a character plus it aligns with the whole ‘retired soldier’ thing since soldiers usually treat everyone except their enemies (w/ exceptions) as equals.
TANG XUHAI IS SO SOFT AND CARING TOWARDS FU SHIWU 🥺🥺🥺
