Chapter 37

“Disperse!!” Captain Xing roared.

A mutant soldier pushed away the soldier who controlled the heavy machine gun and picked up the heavy weapon that needed two people to carry. Holding back the excruciating pain due to his body wounds, he raised the gun and shot at the other alien that was flying towards him.

The heavy machine gun made up of three barrels were savagely fired at 6000 rounds per minute, and the ground around his feet was quickly covered with empty yellow cartridges.

No one dared to say that he was wasting bullets, and several other machine guns were also pointing at this alien.

While a fierce shooting spree was going on over here, on the other side, Tang Xuhai faced an alien by himself.

Seizing this opportunity, Tang Xuhai kicked the alien to the ground, and the moment it lost its balance, Tang Xuhai slammed down his swords with both hands, quickly and neatly cutting off the alien’s arms.

The alien’s EQ wasn’t high enough to understand endurance and it thus quickly reacted to the wounds, rolling on the ground in extreme pain. Tang Xuhai then leapt over and chopped off its head with a single blow.

By the time the battle was over, Tang Xuhai’s body was drenched in the creature’s blood. He raised his head, gleefully letting the rain wash away everything.

Thereafter, he squatted down and used the light on his watch to examine the alien’s feet.

This alien’s whole body was remarkably smooth, but there were some lines on the soles, which seemed to help generate friction.

Tang Xuhai kicked the alien body away and laughed: “Learn to wear non-slip shoes first before you even think about taking over the Earth.”

Tang Xuhai finished cleaning up the alien and ran towards the central warehouse’s gate. He had left for only ten minutes, but the moment he returned, the fortification was almost completely unrecognisable.

“How are the casualties?” Tang Xuhai asked Captain Xing as he glanced at the tragic state of this side.

“It’s quite bad for the squad of ability users. A few of our soldiers have also died.” Captain Xing replied with a tense expression.

Almost half of the special ability user squad that was just barely formed had died under the alien’s attack. And that was only a single alien!

Through this ordeal, the main issue that could be seen was that these ability users had poor adaptability and a serious lack of cooperation. Among the dead, some of them were even accidentally hurt by their very own teammates.

“The alien was killed by the special operations team.” Captain Xing said.

“Very good!” Tang Xuhai praised.

“It wasn’t!” Captain Xing rolled his eyes and said angrily: “There’s no ammunition left!”

Although there were serious losses this time, they managed to prevent an alien attack. An air of relief came over the central warehouse’s gate after the heavy moments were finally over.

But Tang Xuhai frowned, for he felt that the battle was over too soon. He said to Captain Xing: “There were no other aliens?”

“Not at all.” Captain Xing said with certainty: “Perhaps the attack tonight is over?”

Tang Xuhai pondered for a while. The evolved aliens gathered a group of less-evolved aliens to charge into the fire net, then they themselves appeared suddenly at the last minute. Would it be just that simple?

The eight aliens from earlier even knew how to make a detour, climb onto the buildings and jumped out of the windows to ambush from midair!

Just as he was thinking about this, a loud noise and a harsh scream surged from the warehouse behind him!

Tang Xuhai’s expression changed at once: “Sh*t! It was a diversion!”

He immediately left Captain Xing, who had also reacted to the scream, to run towards the warehouse.

At this moment, Fu Shiwu Wen Zhaoming left their hiding position and started attacking the aliens.

“Fu Shiwu! Where are you?!” Tang Xuhai’s voice came from a distance.
