Chapter 71

“How do you feel being pointed at by your own weapon?” Feng Zhuoming sneered. Under his control, the barrel of Fu Shiwu’s gun started to deform, as if a huge hand was crumbling it: “See that? These pistols are just garbage in front of me, yet you still have the nerve to use them!”

Fu Shiwu’s eyes flashed, and very swiftly, he pounced towards the ground.

Following his movements, Wang Dan and Hollande also flexibly avoided the muzzle’s range and hid at a corner.

As the situation changed, the others also quickly learnt after Wang Dan and Hollande and hid away one after another.

The distorted barrel noisily whizzed at Fu Shiwu. As though eyes had grown at the back of his head, Fu Shiwu acutely arched his body and the ‘garbage’ gun flew past.

Feng Zhuoming thought that he only got lucky, and he commanded the other two guns that were floating in the air to turn and fly towards Fu Shiwu.

Fu Shiwu propped himself up with both hands on the ground and ran across the scattered cement blocks on the floor, towards the clear ground in front

“Aren’t you looking for death?! What a stupid man.” Feng Zhuomin’s lips tugged up into a ruthless smirk as he controlled the gun to fire at Fu Shiwu.

A place that gave a wide-angled view was obviously more beneficial for him!

“Whoosh — whoosh — whoosh —”

The bullets chased after Fu Shiwu’s figure, spinning at remarkably high speed and brushing past his body.

One, two, three, four, five…

Feng Zhuoming could feel uneasiness gradually creeping  into his heart. If Fu Shiwu could avoid a few bullets, it might still be considered sheer luck or coincidence. But dodging one after another wasn’t something that even luck could explain. Not to mention, if Fu Shiwu showed off exaggerated movements while dodging those bullets, Feng Zhuoming might not be so upset, but he actually made very light moves or just simply took a step right or left. It was almost like the bullets were avoiding him!

When the pistols were all out of bullets, Feng Zhuoming’s gloomy face was drenched in sweat.

All the pistols turned out to be useless… Are you kidding me?

“I will definitely, definitely kill you!!” Feng Zhuoming frantically waved his arms, and the metal thorns floating around him unanimously flocked towards Fu Shiwu.

But he didn’t expect that Fu Shiwu, who had been turning his back against Feng Zhuoming all this while, suddenly turned around and faced him with a blank expression.

Feng Zhuoming was even more furious. Isn’t this looking down on me? Is he thinking that my thorns aren’t as powerful as those bullets? !

Indeed, Fu Shiwu actually thought so!

Since a bullet moved extremely fast as it slid down the barrel, he could only determine the trajectory of the bullet the moment it left the chamber. It couldn’t be easier to find space to dodge it since an almost-still image of every bullet was imprinted in his head.

No matter how arrogant Feng Zhuoming was, his metal abilities couldn’t manipulate each and every thorn. He could only control the angle of the thorn rain as a whole.

This allowed Fu Shiwu to find a flaw and, from the metal thorns that were flying his way, he discovered their flying path that lined perfectly along his own.

Fu Shiwu strode forward and, without missing a split second, he started sprinting. Right before Feng Zhuoming’s horrified eyes, Fu Shiwu charged into his face.

He raised his hand high, and the piece of glass he picked up at the moment he was propping himself against the ground slashed towards Feng Zhuoming’s neck!

“This is… impossible…” Feng Zhuoming looked at Fu Shiwu’s indifferent face in disbelief, and slowly, both his hands dropped. As the glass shard firmly stabbed into his neck with its razor-sharp corner, his blood kept flowing out, dripping onto the ground and blooming into bright crimson flowers.

Unwillingly, Feng Zhuoming died along with the sound of metal falling down.

Only then did Fu Shiwu dare to gasp for air. What happened just now was too fast and too gripping for his heart to handle.

His phenomenal show made the men that were following Shi Zheng scared out of their wits, so much so that their hands holding onto  their guns quivered with fright.

If bullets couldn’t do the job, he wouldn’t need a pistol. Is this man really a mere mortal?

One of the junior underlings chose to not believe in such a miracle. He tossed away his gun and bolted towards Fu Shiwu — if he could take this man down, the boss would surely start looking at him in a different light.

Wang Dan pivoted on both feet, and with a neat jump, she landed on the underling’s back and kneeled on his shoulders. Her muscular legs smoothly wrapped around his neck and fiercely twisted it to a side.

With a crisp “crack”, the underling slumped down. Wan Dang lightly descended to the ground, picked up the abandoned gun and took a few steps towards Fu Shiwu.

Fu Shiwu looked at the kickboxing coach whose eyes were incredibly bright and whose body was emanating such a marvellously righteous aura: “Thank you.”

Wang Dan smiled broadly and, changing her expression to a solemn one, she put the pistol into Fu Shiwu’s hands.

As though Fu Shiwu’s hands also had their own consciousness, they quickly pulled out the magazine to check the bullets inside, then pushed it back.

“I’m going to help Xuhai, you take the lead to clean them up.” Fu Shiwu said with a serious expression.

Wang Dan nodded: “Go ahead, leave it to me here.”

The lights on the sides of the path had been destroyed when Feng Zhuoming pulled the metal frames out just now. Only thanks to the searchlights from far away that this place didn’t fall into complete darkness.

Watching Fu Shiwu’s back, Wang Dan turned her head and rushed towards the few people that had turned up behind her. Liu Zhao and Wu Shan also left the spots they were hiding. If it were just sparring against mutants, they wouldn’t be afraid at all.

At this point, Tang Xuhai was caught in a tough battle near the stretch of trees next to the building. Although Shi Zheng was a power-type ability user with no particular skills, he intricately made full use of his strength to push back Tang Xuhai one way or another.

The sturdy trunk in Shi Zheng’s hand danced vigorously beside him, basically stopping Tang Xuhai from getting too close.

Tang Xuhai had once tasted a battle against this man, but right now, his hands were trembling so badly he almost couldn’t grasp the greatsword.

In desperation, Tang Xuhai could only act like a puppet fully under its master’s control. He had to follow Shi Zheng’s movements and act along with the situation, and he had to step back as soon the trunk got in the way.

“Hahaha! Tang Xuhai, is this your all?! Useless!” Shi Zheng cracked into laughter.

Tang Xuhai gritted his teeth in fury, but his hands were completely tied. At this very moment, Fu Shiwu suddenly appeared, and almost without any pause, he raised his hand and fired a few shots.

Shi Zheng was completely caught off-guard. He viciously turned the tree trunk around, which suffered several bullets, while only one single bullet managed to ram into Shi Zheng’s body.

A power-type ability user was tremendously strong in physique. His toughened skin blocked the bullet’s energy as his tight muscles firmly clammed the cartridge.

Shi Zheng looked at Fu Shiwu, who was utterly taken aback by this outcome.

Shi Zheng exploded into a rage and raised the sturdy trunk in his hand, tossing it directly at Fu Shiwu.

Tang Xuhai’s heart thudded heavily. If Shi Zheng was caught up with attacking Fu Shiwu, he would find an opening to strike, but there was no way he could just ignore Fu Shiwu.

He ran over, hugged Fu Shiwu and rolled to the ground, and the huge tree trunk flew right past them.

Tang Xuhai’s muscular chest pressed against Fu Shiwu’s chest, making him almost unable to breathe.

Not delaying a second, Tang Xuhai turned atop Fu Shiwu and pulled him up easily.

“You can’t help me. Shi Zheng’s muscle strength is too powerful, and his bones have also been strengthened. Unless you hit his eyes.” Without blinking, Tang Xuhai stared intently at Shi Zheng, who was uprooting up the next tree, causing another pit to form on the stretch of trees. “But he’s very vigilant, you’ll have no chance.”

Fu Shiwu also noticed this. Guns and bullets could deal with aliens, but once they faced the diverse, endless possibilities that could come up from special ability users, they started to falter.

With much regret, Fu Shiwu came to the realisation that he really couldn’t help much, so he could only step back.

By the time Wang Dan finished cleaning up Shi Zheng’s men, a large group of people rushed over from a distance. Among them, there were both mutants and ability users. They were junior underlings who came along upon catching sight of the conflict from afar.

The one leading the group glared at them in anger: “What are you doing? Aiding the aliens to kill more of us inside and outside? Despicable! Is now the time?! Are you trying to have us all dead?! Is this your ploy to destroy mankind?!”

Liu Zhao and the others were choked and had nothing to say. It was true that their escape plan was able to unfold because of the alien attack, but this person was outrageously putting the blame on them; how was this even unreasonable?

The girl who was rescued by Fu Shiwu’s team earlier laughed angrily. She responded in a sharp voice: “Stop spilling such flowery bullsh*t! I’d rather be eaten by aliens and die clean than be friends with you filthy animals!”

Gazing at the young girl, the man’s pupils shrank as he yelled: “It’s you!”

“Yes, it’s me!” The girl said, each word laced with so much hatred: “Don’t stand there and snobbishly condemn others. Do you even have the right to?! You’re a f*cking rapist! I’ll kill you today to avenge my friend!!!”

After saying this, the girl took a deep breath, and a high-pitched shriek cut across the sky.

The person’s expression changed at once, and he gaped at it in panic: “Hurry up and kill her! Her sonic attack is terrifying!”

This time, the girl didn’t summon a single-target burst of sound, but a fan-shaped attack. It could only slow down the opponents’ movements a bit and didn’t carry much fatal damage, but with this little deceleration, it was enough to make them unable to release their abilities!

Liu Zhao even thought that the game was about to be finished right here. Seeing this opportunity, he hurriedly picked up a gun on the floor.

Hollande moved even faster. Growing up in a place where he could legally own guns, his marksmanship wasn’t almost on par with his archery skill.

They took the opportunity to bring down more than a dozen men, but there were too many on the other side. Those that managed to dodge the girl’s impact looked at them with a twisted expression.

At this moment, Huo Enting, who hadn’t been making any moves till this point, suddenly striked. He opened his palms and his veins burst: “Aaaahhhh!!!”

After a roar, a series of powerful water bullets gushed out incessantly from his palms!

The men on the opposite side could never have imagined that Huo Enting, who seemingly had been drained of all his water, could still release more bullets. One by one, each of them fell down, riddled with bloody holes.

Miao Jia looked at him in amazement: “How can your powers still work?”

With his face as whie as a sheet, Huo Enting twitched the corner of his mouth a little: “I’m forcing it. Although the water still comes, I’ve only recovered a tiny bit. It was really my limit just now.”

Huo Enting’s sudden eruption made the scale of victory fall to their side. The opponents were no longer able to squeeze out more men to rush over from the prison wall to deal with them.

The young girl’s eyes suddenly gleamed brightly. In a blink, she ran towards the direction where Shi Zheng, Tang Xuhai and Fu Shiwu were fighting!

  • I love this new girl.
Also I'm so looking forward to finding out where Fu Shiwu's Matrix-like ability comes from.
Thank you for your hard work!

    • Very likely from his scientist(?) Mother and Father, or from the secretive institution he lived in as a young child. He was likely an experiment.

  • I guess we're entering the climax of the battle, I still hope Wen Zhaoming is alive. Thank you for the chapter!
