Chapter 67

“Scum!” Tang Xuhai couldn’t help but burst out as he gaped at Shi Zheng with dreary eyes: “The person you have a grudge on is me. I’m here, let them go. Remove the bomb!”

Shi Zheng turned his feet and put both hands together on his chest, looking back at Tang Xu with a wicked smile: “Of course you’re the one whom I hold a grudge against, but didn’t these people also kill my men? Even if they didn’t do it themselves and only stayed on the sidelines, they were your accomplice still. What gives you the confidence that I’ll let those people who killed my subordinates go for the sake of only you?”

Tang Xuhai closed his eyes. He knew this would come.

At this point, Huo Enting nervously stepped forward and said with a stiff voice: “What if I say I want to join you?”

Hearing such shocking words coming out from his mouth, the people hanging on the wall looked at him with utter disbelief, but Fu Shiwu and Tang Xuhai remained completely unflinching.

As long as there was a glimmer of hope, they were willing to try.

“I have water-type powers, with a skill called Water Bullets.” With his face almost as white as a sheet, Huo Enting looked at Shi’s blank expression: “This skill is comparable to the power of a heavy-fire machine gun. As long as you release them, I’m willing to join your gang.”

“Grgh!” Shi Zheng sneered: “Do you think I’m that kind of trash who’ll compromise just because of your ability?”

As Huo Enting stared at Shi Zheng in amazement, Shi Zheng continued with a devious tone: “If I really let them go and allow you to join me, how can I be worthy of my brothers who’ve died? And how will these brothers who are working for me look at me in the future?! Is their life so worthless?! My brothers die such unjust death, yet the boss easily lets go of the murderer in order to win over the enemy? Such a thought could chill me to the bones!”

This was something Huo Enting never expected. Although he didn’t say it out loud, he was very contented about the fact that he managed to improve his water arrows into water bullets.

His water-type ability was no longer considered useless, and even its lethality had been tremendously boosted. He was the team’s main attack force when they killed the aliens back at the mountain top!

Huo Enting even believed that thanks to this ability, any survival base would welcome him with open arms. But he totally didn’t expect that Shi Zheng, a man living outside the laws, wouldn’t blatantly turn him down just like that!

This was exactly Shi Zheng’s charm. Although he was cruel and everyone under his wings was fearful of him, they knew that he wasn’t just any ordinary man.

Right that moment, a commotion rose from the underlings behind him. As more and more of them applauded his judgment, their admiration and trust for him also rose exponentially.

Tang Xuhai also didn’t foresee that Shi Zheng would knock down the offer without any hesitation.

“Stop with all this nonsense, Tang Xuhai! Today, we will celebrate your death!” Pointing at Tang Xuhai, Shi Zheng let out a stern warning.

Tang Xuhai’s expression remained icy cold as he said to Shi Zheng: “Since I dare to turn up here, I’m fully aware of what will happen to me. Shi Zheng, whatever tricks you’re having up your sleeve, come at me!”

Turning over his wrists, Tang Xuhai held tightly onto the two swords in his hand. Without a hint of fear, he gazed intently at Shi Zheng.

Shi Zhengxie laughed evilly and held up a small object: “You think you still have the right to resist? Do you know what’s in my hand?”

Tang Xuhai’s eyesight had always been incredibly good and he immediately recognised the thing Shi Zheng was carrying. It was a remote control.

Gritting his teeth, Tang Xuhai squeezed his words strenuously: “Shi Zheng, you’re still a man that others look up to. There’s no need to be so shameless.”

Shi Zheng responded to Tang Xuhai in a heavy tone: “Do you deserve to say such things to me? It was you who did put a trap on me before. Don’t spill so much nonsense, any man will use any means necessary to emerge the victor. You’d better do as I say, otherwise I can’t guarantee that my hand won’t tremble by accident and blow all of your companions into the sky.”

Fu Shiwu raised his head worriedly at his friends hanging on the wall, then he looked at Shi Zheng. What a scum!

Tang Xuhai took a deep breath and watched Shi Zheng in silence.

Shi Zheng smiled with satisfaction and said lazily: “First throw away your two swords. There can be no trace of metal objects on your body, at all.”

Unwillingly, Tang Xuhai threw his duo swords to the ground.

Shi Zheng glanced at the other two: “Then the two of you. One will hand over his guns, and the other will release 10 tons of water.”

Scared yet angry at the same time, Fu Shiwu looked at Shi Zheng in puzzlement. How could he know everything?

Tang Xuhai gritted his teeth: “Do what he said.”

Fu Shiwu calmly handed over the two pistols. With a blank expression, Huo Enting stretched out his hands and sprayed out water while secretly wishing that he could just smack the men before him with water bullets.

But Shi Zheng remained extremely alert, his fingers fixated on the remote control at all time.

The man who stripped their weapons squinted at Tang Xuhai and said with a smirk: “Boss, he isn’t honest, he still has metal stuff on him!”

Shi Zheng raised his eyebrows: “Oh?”

Tang Xuhai cast a bitter look at the bastaard who was trying to stir up trouble and pressed down his fury: “Anything metal on me has been taken out.”

He even threw away the car keys.

“Isn’t your belt buckle also metal?” The bastard asked.

As soon as these words came out, he burst into laughter: “Hahahahahaha!”

“Yes, yes! Not only the belt buckle, isn’t his pants zipper also metal?! Quickly take it off!”

“Take it off!!!”

“Take it off! Hahahahahaha!”

Fu Shiwu angrily looked at the group of men who were clearly trying to insult Tang Xuhai!

But Tang Xuhai remained utterly calm. Leisurely, he pulled out his pants, took them off completely and stepped on the ground barefoot.

“To make Wolf Head Shi Zheng so upset that he would rush to make me strip naked just to feel at ease, it’s really an honour for this humble me.” Tang Xuhai said coldly.

Shi Zheng’s smile faded: “Don’t be so full of yourself yet. Xiao Mi, come teach him some lessons. Let his slick tongue end its show quickly.”

From behind Shi Zheng, a sturdy man walked up at once and punched Tang Xuhai in the face.

Fu Shiwu immediately wanted to rush over but was desperately held down.

He couldn’t shake them away and could only watch Tang Xuhai being beaten.

Tang Xuhai glared at him. The meaning in those eyes was very clear: Do not act rashly.

He understood that Tang Xuhai was waiting for the right opportunity, but he was afraid that Shi Zheng might kill him before the time could come.

Wen Zhaoming was dropped in front of the gate and couldn’t see what was happening on the other side, but just the sounds alone disturbed him to no end. He struggled with the rope tied to his wrist, his eyes grim. All of a sudden, a tangled feeling of anger, fear, guilt and even self-loathing rose in his heart.

Shi Zheng had given some clear threats when tying him to the bomb. This was such a complicated, delicate bomb that only a professional bomb disposal expert could remove it. For laymen like them, even if they thought until their heads blew up, there was no way they could take it off.

The bomb remote control was in Shi Zheng’s hands, so the detonation of this bomb was in his palm. On the other hand, they also monitored Wen Zhaoming’s heartbeat: the bomb would detonate if he died. In addition, it would also explode as long as any metal wire was touched. There were absolutely no flaws.

Unlike on the TV, they couldn’t defuse this bomb by randomly cutting a wire.

By this point, Wen Zhaoming had become totally disheartened. He didn’t fear dying, but now, his death could bring harm to the others. He got hung on the wall and became Shi Zheng’s bargaining chip to take down Tang Xuhai and Fu Shiwu.

In order to show off in front of Shi Zheng, the attacker named Xiao Mi poured out all his effort and landed his whole strength onto Tang Xuhai.

Very soon, Tang Xuhai’s body was covered in blue and purple bruises, with both sides of his face swollen and he almost couldn’t open his eyes.

“Okay, don’t beat him to death. This man killed so many of my brothers, how could I let him die so easily?” Shi Zheng said indifferently.

Xiao Mi came to a stop and panted hard, then he launched a final kick at Tang Xuhai.

Tang Xuhai’s head drooped down, as if he had passed out.

“Take Tang Xuhai to the special cell. Put up an incense altar so I can kill him tomorrow morning to pay homage to my dead brothers.” Shi Zheng looked at Fu Shiwu, who had been staring at him, and smiled: “Don’t worry, when the time comes, I’ll send you down together to accompany him.”

We have to wait until tomorrow morning?

Fu Shiwu thought silently. He wondered if the aliens would really attack tonight.

Never once in his imagination did he think that one day, he would actually look forward to the emergence of those aliens.

Fu Shiwu and Huo Enting were dragged down and locked in the cell, while Tang Xuhai was put in a special cell alone. The door of this cell was a thick stone slab, with its opening and closing wholly controlled by an earth-type ability user. There was absolutely nothing made of metal inside.

This one was specially prepared not only for Tang Xuhai, but also for Shi Zheng to deal with any metal-type ability users.

Tang Xuhai was dragged like a dead dog and thrown into the cell, then the stone door was closed shut. The light seeped through a few fist-sized holes made for ventilation, making the inside of the cell not entirely dark.

When he was sure that those men were gone, Tang Xuhai got up and spit out some blood.

As he cocked his neck and lightly moved the joints of his arms and legs, a crisp noise could be heard.

He checked his body and was surprised to find that even when that big man Xiao Mi knocked him around so brutally, he was hurt only on the skin and no internal injuries were left behind.

Tang Xuhai looked at his palm in bewilderment. Could it be that after his bones started fusing with metal, his muscle strength had increased immemsely?

He thought for a moment; it was indeed possible. His metal powers had always been a tad different from other metal-type ability users back at the central warehouse. His powers seemed to be able to toughen him from within, while the others could merely manipulate metals from outside.

Tang Xuhai sneered at the stone door. They were seriously wrong to think that taking away any metal objects on his body would leave his hands completely tied.

He opened his palm and a huge sword slowly emerged from it!
